Nymphéas Pouch by The Bengal Paisley, Hamburg
Meet the Nymphéas Pouches, a natural extension of the same serene design and thoughtful craftsmanship as our Nymphéas Wanderbeutel. These 22x16 cm pouches are crafted from the same locally sourced cotton, and each one is has a good quality zip-lock system and a cotton handle extension for added convenience.
Available in both classic canvas white (Yellowish) and elegant dark black, these pouches are the perfect companions to your Wanderbeutel or a chic stand-alone statement of their own. They offer a blend of everyday elegance and practicality, perfect for carrying your essentials with a touch of artistic flair.
Just like the rest of the collection, these pouches carry forward my commitment to slow, sustainable fashion and the empowerment of local artisans. Each pouch is a small but meaningful way to carry a piece of Bengal’s artistic heritage with you, wherever you go.
The inspiration comes from Claude Monet’s water lilies, a fascination that began for the designer Sumit back in 2013 when he first saw Monet’s paintings in Paris. Growing up in Bengal, Sumit always loved water flowers, and this bag is his tribute to that blend of Eastern memories and urban casual lifestyle. Each bag is individually hand-painted by Aditi Bala, a young girl currently doing her master’s, and produced ethically in Bengal, India. It’s a limited wearable art piece, each one unique and made with a lot of love.
To keep your Nymphéas Pouche in top shape, you can machine wash it on a gentle cycle, but be sure to avoid harsh detergents or any bleaching agents. For the best care and to maintain the color vibrancy over time, we recommend hand washing with mild soap. While the colors are designed to last, a gentle hand wash will keep them looking newer for longer. When ironing, turn the pouch inside out and iron on the reverse side to protect the hand-painted design from direct heat.
